Cristiano Ronaldo continued his irrepressible goalscoring form with yet another delightful double to sink Portsmouth and send United back to the
top of the Premier League.
Paul Scholes played his 550th appearance for the Reds and he was involved in United's opener after just ten minutes. His pass forward was chested by Ronaldo to Nanni and then Ronaldo one-on-one with a goalkeeper finished with a fine touch for put United up. Three minutes later, Ronaldo's free-kick was shot arrowed its way into the top corner. The goal took him to 27 for the season.
