Aalborg 0 - 3 United

Dimitar Berbatov got off the mark with a double strike as Manchester United cruise to UCL' Victory against Aalborg in Denmark.

Wayne Rooney slid home a pass from Ryan Giggs to open the scoring after 22 minutes.

Berbatov opened his goal account when he took advantage of a defensive mix-up to score 10 minutes after half-time.

He then volleyed in Cristiano Ronaldo's cross for his second after 79 minutes.

Scholesy was left on crutches, while Rooney limped off in some discomfort just before the hour mark.

United suffered a blow after 16 minutes when Scholes was stretchered off with a knee injury following a challenge by Thomas Augustinussen.

A job well done by United - but at what costs in terms of injuries remained to be seen as the players prepared to fly back to Manchester.

United 2 - 0 Bolton

United got their first Home win of the season, with 1 goal of C. Ronaldo and other from W. Rooney.

Ferguson said about the match: "We would have won the game OK, but when teams are defending the way they did, with determination. They are difficult to break down and you need a little break like that."

Ronaldo put United ahead after Referee Rob Styles awarded United a penalty because of Jlloyd Samuel's tackle, which was a fair one. Wayne Rooney curled in United's second after a Ronaldo back-flick as Bolton were left seething over the penalty.

The incident could spark renewed debate about video technology but in all honesty the official should never have given a penalty.

Sir. Alex Ferguson rotated his side ahead to the UCL's trip to Aalborg in midweek. United could have doubled their lead in the closing stages and the only talking point afterwards was that incredulous penalty decision.

United line-up:

Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo (Nani 80), Fletcher, Anderson (Scholes 71), Park, Tevez (Rooney 71), Berbatov.
Subs not used: Amos, Giggs, O'Shea, Evans.

Goals: Ronaldo 60 pen, Rooney 77.

Ferdinand in Clear over Challenge

The FA will take no further action against United after
seven of their players picked up bookings
on Sunday's 1 - 1 draw at Chelsea.

United were already expecting an automatic 25,000 pound of fine for more than six cautions, but Referee Mike Riley raised no more concerns in his reports.

Riley did not take issue with Rio Ferdinand's challenge on Didier Drogba in the final second of the match.

And there was no mention of any incidents following the final whistle. Some United players, had reacted aggressively at full-time, but Riley's report makes clear he was happy with his handing of the game.

The incident was the last of the match - Riley blew the whistle for full-time after the pair collided in the air.

The incident is now in the hands of the police.
