The Barcelona midfielder was one of 10 Spanish players selected by UEFA's technical committee after they beat Italy 4-0 to retain their European Championship and win an historic third consecutive major tournament.
UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh said: "Picking Iniesta as the Best Player of Euro 2012 sends a message about creativity, incisive football and humility."
Steven Gerrard was England's only selection, taking his place in a midfield contingent that contained all six Spaniards who started the final in Vicente Del Bosque's 4-6-0 formation.
Other star men to get official recognition include Italy playmaker Andrea Pirlo, Germany's Mesut Ozil and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gerrard and Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic were the only selections from sides that did not reach the semi-finals.
Roxburgh added: "Gerrard played really, really well and showed great leadership qualities.
"Pirlo was magnificent, Xavi could easily have won again (as at Euro 2008) and Xabi Alonso was excellent."
