Liverpool and Arsenal have fought over players before in the past and it looks like the two are once again set to lock horns over another potential transfer target for the both of them according to TalkSport.
Since his move to FC Barcelona in the winter of 2010-11, Holland international attacking midfielder, Ibrahim Afellay has never been able to truly settle into the Blaugrana side and impress his critics.
Several injuries have also hampered the 26-year-old from showing the best he has to offer for the Catalan club. With only five total appearances in the entire 2011-12 season for the club, his strong play at the UEFA European Championship this summer is likely the best indication that he has fully healed and is ready to make a move.
However, that loss to Barcelona is expected to be the gain of whomever signs him as his value is at a cut price that many sides will be hoping to pounce on as soon as talks can be held to determine the availability of the playmaker.
