Transfer of Liverpool Target Jackson Martinez to FC Porto Hits Snag

Jackson Martinez
Colombian striker Jackson Martinez is still in limbo over a possible move to Portuguese giants FC Porto.

Martinez has looked to be on his way to the Estadio do Dragao, but the transfer has hit a snag over the structure of the payment to be made to the player’s Mexican club Jaguares.

Indeed, Jaguares have even signed a replacement for Martinez, so certain were they that he was heading for the exit door; Jhon Cordoba, a 19-year-old Colombian known as the "Colombian Drogba" has arrived at the Mexican outfit.
And Martinez has been left admitting that at present he does not know what is going to unfold.

"I have to report to Jaguares", said the Colombian.
"So far I cannot confirm any negotiations.
"My agent told me that there is the possibility I will be going to Porto, but in reality I am still not sure I am going to Portugal."

Jaguares’ signing of a replacement for Martinez is likely to intensify the activity around the player’s potential switch to Porto.

Other clubs could yet take advantage of the situation however and Martinez has been consistently linked with English Premier League giants Liverpool.
